the birth of the rad menagerie

I have been creating art since I can remember...drawing little stick figures with high heels at 4 or 5, fashion in my tweens and ALLLLLL the horses in my early teenage years, and then more realistic portraits after getting into some classes in high
school and college. I spent most of my creative hours copying beautiful things for years, wondering how I could use my skill and passion for something that was unique, a way to market myself, like all artists do ; )
I imagine you have to live a certain amount of life before you begin to have vision. It wasn't until I had experienced heartbreak, disappointment, struggle, love and loss, and a broader perspective on life and people that I started to imagine something that was just mine.
I started all over again, on my own. I was already dreaming of my own business, but I had no concept. I needed inspiration.
I found this house. An early 1900s mix of Queen Anne and Craftsman style with Victorian details, this place has huge pocket doors, scrolling floral wallpaper, statement-piece light fixtures and a claw foot tub with a chandelier in the bathroom! It has so much personality and as soon as I walked in the door, I knew it was the house I needed to inspire feminine energy and confidence.
And so The Rad Menagerie was created! The house is my muse.
The concept is self-fulfillment, acceptance, improvement, awareness, intentionality. I'm making art for me now. I'm creating the world I want to live in. And now I'm sharing it with the world. Welcome to The Menagerie.
